How Data is Stored

Anonymous Users

When using the editor anonymously:

  • Your documents are stored in your browser's local storage
  • A unique anonymous ID is stored in cookies to identify your documents
  • Your data will be lost if you clear your browser storage or cookies
  • Documents are only accessible from the same browser/device

Registered Users

When using the editor with an account:

  • Your documents are securely stored in our cloud database
  • You can access your documents from any device by logging in
  • Your data is backed up and protected
  • You can recover your documents even if you clear your browser data

Upgrading from Anonymous to Registered

If you've been using the editor anonymously and decide to create an account, we'll automatically:

  • Migrate all your anonymous documents to your new account
  • Preserve all document content and metadata
  • Link any shared documents to your new account
